15 Most Hated Comic Book Movie Characters Ever

Ben Affleck’s portrayal of blind lawyer Matt Murdock and his vigilante alter ego wasn’t the only disappointing character in 2003’s Daredevil. His love interest Elektra Natchios, a Greek-American heiress-cum-martial arts trained assassin played by Jennifer Garner, didn’t fare too well either. To be fair though, the film wasn’t exactly a shining example of how do cinema right overall.

Garner being about as Greek as totally authentic gyro from the takeaway down the road wasn’t even the main gripe fans had with Elektra. A far cry from the seductive and dangerous assassin conjured up by Frank Miller, Garner’s Elektra was more bland than blistering and for a love interest shared a curious lack of chemistry with co-star and future husband to be Affleck.

To add insult to injury Elektra – despite a lukewarm reception first time around and despite seemingly dying at the end of Daredevil – resurfaced a couple of years later in a self-titled spinoff. It’d be nice to say the spinoff improved on the character, but Elektra second time around was just as bland and the film even more critically panned than its predecessor.
