15 Most Hated Comic Book Movie Characters Ever

The long-awaited live action debut of Marvel’s most subversive character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine went down about as well as a lead balloon with fans in what is one of the most disappointing comic to film adaptations of a character in recent memory.

Granted, the silver screen incarnation of Deadpool started out strong but the decision to give him all kinds of daft powers not normally associated with him, take away his iconic red suit and fourth wall-breaking and sew the Merc with a Mouth’s cakehole shut wasn’t exactly an exercise in staying true to the character fans had grown to know and love.

Thankfully both the character and Ryan Reynolds were redeemed with the release of Deadpool’s self-titled spinoff last year which almost atones for the previous desecration of the Merc with a Mouth with a few digs at X-Men Origins’ expense. Nice save.
