15 Most Important Film Sequels Coming In 2017
5. War For The Planet Of The Apes
The Planet of the Apes reboot has been one of the more successful. Plus it's also a prequel, so it's one of the more successful of those too. Both Rise and Dawn not only look great, they take risks not usually found in mainstream blockbuster cinema (Dawn begins with an extended sequence featuring no spoken dialogue) the biggest one being the apes now put in the position of sympathetic protagonists as opposed to enemies. The films aren't spoken of much, but aside from the terribly convoluted titles the films are brimming with quality.
Since the release of Rise back in 2011 the series has been building to the big ol' war between men and apes and the more perceptive among you may realise that War makes up some of the long-ass title. The recent trailer shows a much more sullen ape leader Caesar doing everything he can to put his species on top as his gravelly narration sends chills down your spine.
Andy Serkis looks to be continuing his astounding performance at the centre of the vibrant cinematography, everything in the initial trailer suggests it's an absolute must-see.
