15 Most Important Film Sequels Coming In 2017
1. Blade Runner 2049
Director Denis Villeneuve is currently on a film-making hot streak, with this year's modern sci-fi masterpiece Arrival standing as further evidence that he can jump genre and continue to make unique, through-provoking brilliance. Good news then that he's in charge of delivering a sequel to the seminal Blade Runner.
Another movie where nothing has been next to nothing has been revealed about the plot, the title gives away when the film will be set and we do know that Harrison Ford is returning as Replicant-hunting-possible-Replicant-himself, Rick Deckard. Other than that we know less than nothing aside from the ludicrously talented cast that's been put together along with a few pieces of concept art depicting the neon-lit dystopia Blade Runner is famous for.
Speculation over the plot is rife. Will Deckard finally be outed as a Replicant? Could Ryan Gosling be hunting him? Will Jared Leto put in another terrible performance? Whatever the story may be, Blade Runner 2049 is shaping up to be the best film of next year.
