2. Star Wars: Episode VIII
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens was another galactic success for Disney and no doubt Episode VIII: Forcing It will be just as successful. The question is, will it be as good? Episode VII has its detractors for sure with one of the more widespread criticisms being that it's a mirror image of A New Hope, but the large majority of critics and fans adored it.
Picking up where the last one left off, the mysteries of Rey, Ren and Snoke will be further explored along with quite how Luke survived on that tiny island without any kitchen facilities or blue milk. With beloved rogue Han now gone, leaving our heroes in a pretty dark place, there are so many questions leading into VIII it's tough not to worry whether the film will answer enough of them or if it will end up a vapid placeholder before Episode IX.
With the painful prequel memories finally laid to rest and the franchise reignited, Star Wars Episode VIII is not only one of the most important sequels of the year, it is one of the most important films, period.
