John Wick blasted onto the scene out of nowhere and went on to become an action sleeper hit as well as confirmation that the oft criticised Keanu Reeves can still fire a gun with the best of them. The use of visually fresh fighting and shooting styles (Judo and "central axis relock" shooting if you're interested) gave the first film an exciting, no-nonsense feel more than welcome amongst all the super-powered beings lobbing buildings at each other.

John Wick: Chapter 2 is bringing back director and stuntman Chad Stahelski which will no doubt lead to some more amazing action sequences etc, etc but the real reason this sequel is important is because of The Matrix reunion of Reeves and Laurence 'Morpheus'-sunglasses-were-so-cool' Fishburne! The prospect of seeing these two tear up the screen again with their fists and feet and philosophical conversations is worth the price of admission alone.

John Wick 2 could well be the beginning of a new action franchise, unless it's terrible in which case at least we get to see Neo and Morpheus chatting again. That's not sarcasm, it's genuinely exciting.
