Once a dude who only directed music videos, 1995's Bad Boys unleashed Michael Bay on us all. Establishing his over the top, adrenaline fueled style, Bay took the "buddy cop" formula and turned it up to eleven.
The movie capitalized on Martin Lawrence and Will Smith at the perfect time. Lawrence was a comedy king with a hit TV show and Smith, with his own lil' TV show, was about to kick off a ridiculous 12 year run of blockbusters (yes, there was a couple duds in there).
