15 Most Monstrous Movie Villains

4. Frank Booth - Blue Velvet (1986)

The story goes that Dennis Hopper read the script to Blue Velvet and called David Lynch begging for the role of the major antagonist of the film, claiming that he was Frank Booth. That€™s€ that€™s a little worrying, Dennis. Frank is a bug-eyed, foul-mouthed deviant freak of a man, possibly exhibiting two separate personae when in the throes of a psychotic break: the sadistic, violent €˜Daddy€™, and the regressive, sexually aggressive €˜Baby€™. A bizarre, twisted rapist, murderer and drug fiend, Frank is the unquestioned star of the show (Blue Velvet being the kind of film that it is), and has since taken his place in pop culture, his lines €“ and Hoppers manic delivery €“ sampled in song. Endlessly quotable, truly terrifying and traumatising in equal measure, Frank Booth is one of the weirdest of Lynch€™s weird, weird creations, which is certainly saying something. Don€™t ever screw with Frank. He€™ll send you a love letter, straight from his heart. You know what a love letter is?
