Road to Perdition was a graphic novel written by Max Allan Collins and published by Paradox Press in 1998. In it, a man named Michael O'Sullivan, already tormented by how his life in the mob conflicts with his faith, finds that his family has been ordered to be killed after his eldest son witnesses something that he wasn't supposed to. A number of sequels would follow and the series would become known as The Perdition Saga.

The film adaptation was released in 2002. Directed by Sam Mendes and featuring a cast including Tom Hanks, Paul Newman, Jude Law and Daniel Craig, the movie was a hit. It would be nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Supporting Actor for Newman, and winning one for its cinematography.

Efforts have been made to adapt at least one of the sequels into a movie as well, but so far they have not come to fruition.

I like to think I'm a clever person, but apparently I'm not clever enough to come up with a witty biography.
