7. Kaiju Art - Kong: Skull Island

Kong: Skull Island was nowhere near as good as it really ought to have been, but it had moments of pure entertainment and there was at least some self-awareness to its B-movie influences (even if it was a little too serious at times). And while it wasn't as critically adored as the 2014 Godzilla reboot that it now ties to, it made more money at the global box office.

In other words, the sequel it sets up so deliciously in the post-credits scene is definitely going to happen, and it's obvious from that scene that we're going to see more of the famous movie monsters from the Godzilla universe, here referred to as other kaiju.

In the post-credits scene, if you pause you'll see cave art for not only Godzilla, but also Rodan, Mothra, and King Ghidorah.
