There are two stories going on in this baffling avant garde film - first, Miss Canada escapes her billionaire husband, ends up in Paris, falls in love at first sight with a Latin singer. After a sex-related calamity, Miss Canada is looked after by a commune of performance artist perverts. Meanwhile, Anna Planeta is in charge of a boat full of sugar and sweets. She takes a lover in the form of a sailor called Potemkin. There is a notorious scene in which Anna appears to sexually 'come on' to a bunch of young boys she has lured into the ship. She kills Potemkin and the children, and she is arrested. If this sounds demented, the actual viewing experience is even more deranged. The actress who played Miss Canada left the movie set in disgust at the things she was expected to do and upon watching the film, you may well agree with her and turn the DVD player off. What do you think are the most perverse films ever made? Let us know in the comments below.
My first film watched was Carrie aged 2 on my dad's knee. Educated at The University of St Andrews and Trinity College Dublin. Fan of Arthouse, Exploitation, Horror, Euro Trash, Giallo, New French Extremism. Weaned at the bosom of a Russ Meyer starlet. The bleaker, artier or sleazier the better!
