Two disaffected French women - Manu and Nadine - end up teaming together after one of them was gang raped and shot her brother for suggesting she enjoyed it. The other killed her flatmate for asking her for rent money she didn't have. The women are magnetically drawn to each other and they go on the lam, shooting, stealing and generally being antisocial all over France. Shot with unsimulated sex scenes, Baise Moi is perverse rather than sexy. When Manu is being gang raped, she offers little resistance and just has a fed up, resigned look on her face, like it is nothing to her. There are a lot of these strangely nasty hardcore porn sequences in the movie, but they don't overwhelm it. They add realism and bite to the film and make it more effective in its highly realistic execution.
