15 Most Ridiculous MCU Controversies

4. Edgar Wright Quits Ant-Man

The Controversy: Shortly before production was due to begin on Ant-Man, writer-director Edgar Wright walked away due to creative differences with Marvel Studios.

Cue a colossal Internet s***storm as fans vowed to boycott the movie and melodramatic articles like this called for the film to be cancelled, while new director Peyton Reed was relentlessly insulted.

Why It's Ridiculous: Look, there's no point denying that it was a major bummer to just about everyone when Wright left Ant-Man, and there's no telling how different (and arguably better) his version would've been.

Still, the end product was pretty solid for the most part, proving most of the hand-wringing to be an overreaction to some admittedly unfortunate news.

Being disappointed is one thing, but starting a hate campaign against Marvel and Reed over it is just nonsensical and childish. Welcome to the Internet.
