The reviews for Tag painted it as yet another aggressively mediocre studio comedy, but thanks to the charms of an incredible cast - including Jeremy Renner, Jake Johnson, Jon Hamm, Ed Helms and Isla Fisher - it actually makes the most of its inspired-by-true-events premise.

It's one thing that Tag is a consistently hilarious character-driven adventure, but more surprising is the film's abundance of heart.

Though it's easy to appreciate why Tag's tone rubbed some viewers the wrong way - especially in the case of a toe-curlingly prolonged gag about miscarriage - if you're game for some daring humour and an ultimately sweet film about the importance of friendship, it's a riot.
