15 Most Underrated Western Films Of All Time
8. Seraphim Falls
Directed
by David Von Ancken, a television journeyman who you never realized has helmed
countless episodes of your favourite shows, this 2006 revisionist effort brings
together two Irish screen titans onscreen at last, pitting former 007/ Drogheda
native Pierce Brosnan against everyone’s favourite action dad Liam Neeson.
Essentially one long chase scene between the two men, the flick drives along at a primal clip for much of its runtime, only to end with a formidable and unapologetic anti-war message which remains potent now, but was downright daring when the film was first released in an era during which the invasion of Iraq was only beginning to lose widespread public support.
