15 Most Weird And Twisted Movies This Decade (So Far)

15. Rubber

The basic synopsis is all you need to hear to appreciate just how strange and unusual Rubber is: a car tyre comes to life and goes on a killing spree using psychic powers to explode its victim's heads. It's the kind of description you might expect from the guys over at Troma studios. But while this rather daft premise might make Rubber sound like a superficial work of silliness - and it does have more than its fair share of stupidity - director Quentin Dupieux has imbued it with a degree of meta-analysis concerning the "no reason" nature of movie-making which elevates Rubber towards something of a minor cult masterpiece. It's a shame Rubber was such a failure at the box office - audiences could do with more genre-smashing movies such as this.
