2. Cap's Post-Credits Troll - Spider-Man: Homecoming

If you were following the pre-release hype for Spider-Man: Homecoming, you'll remember that a lot of prominent "geek" journalists and enthusiasts urged fans to ensure they didn't miss the movie's post-credits scene, which they deemed one of the most pivotal and important in the history of the MCU.

As it turned out, the film's post-credits scene was nothing more than a throwaway gag, a troll in which Captain America (Chris Evans) shows up to extol the virtues of patience, while noting that patience can often result in no pay-off whatsoever, while stopping just short of actually winking at the audience.

It was hilarious, sure, but much like the infamous Howard the Duck cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy's post-credits scene, it had a lot of fans infuriated that they spent an extra 10 minutes sat in the cinema rather than already being half-way home.
