15 Movie Sequels That Better Happen In 2017

The Originals: The ludicrously successful Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones-starring trilogy of sci-fi comedies, and the more recent, unexpectedly hilarious big-screen reboot of the cheeseball 80s cop show.

The Sequel: 2014's Sony Pictures hack revealed that Sony were planning a Men in Black-Jump Street crossover rather than separate sequels, which would reportedly recast Smith and Jones with younger actors to play opposite Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum's Schmidt and Jenko.

Jump Street's Chris Miller and Phil Lord won't return to direct, but they will write the script while James Bobin (The Muppets) takes over helming duties.

How Likely Is It?: Back in August, Hill said that the red tape involved with the MIB rights may stop the film from getting made, and he's also expressed concern that a third movie will cause the series to become the very thing it's relentlessly mocking (a gratuitous cash cow).

Still, a draft of the script has been finished for over a year, and both Hill and Tatum have pretty wide open schedules for 2017 so far, so it's not outside the realm of possibility. Even so, bureaucratic bulls*** could easily stop it. 5/10
