The Original: David O. Russell's outstanding 2010 sports drama revolving around boxer Micky Ward (Mark Wahlberg) and his crack addict half-brother Dicky Eklund (Christian Bale). The film ended up nominated for seven Oscars (including Best Picture), winning two, for Best Supporting Actor (Bale) and Best Supporting Actress (Melissa Leo). The Sequel: Though O. Russell has no involvement with it, Wahlberg has been developing a follow-up for several years, which will cover Ward's 2002-2003 trilogy of fights against Arturo Gatti, who will be played by Entourage's Jerry Ferrara. Granted, little has been heard about the movie for two years now, but Wahlberg for one is convinced it's going to happen, so it's just a case of nailing down all the moving parts and getting it behind the camera. Will It Be Any Good?: The hunt for a new director will be crucial, and it's possible that some cast members may not return owing to scheduling conflicts, so while it likely won't be as great as the original, with the right script it could still be an entertaining, scrappy sports flick.
