15 Movie Trailers You Won't Believe Were Allowed To Exist
3. It's A Talking Dog Movie (Probably) - Snow Dogs
The first rule of a trailer is that you always leave the audience with a money shot right at the end, because the last thing you show them is absolutely what will stick in their mind.
In this case Buena Vista were up to their old trick of deceiving children who didn't know any better, by insinuating that the Cuba Gooding Jr-starring family comedy was going to be focused on a pack of talking dogs.
The trailer's final beat shows the dogs talking and joking around...but this is in fact a dream sequence and not at all representative of what the movie is...which is really a film about a man discovering where he came from.
One can only imagine how many hissy fits were pitched in cinemas the world over as kids slowly realised they were only getting one single, solitary scene of dogs talking. Manipulating adults is bad enough, but kids? That's straight-up douchebaggery.
