15 Movie Trailers You Won't Believe Were Allowed To Exist

12. It's A Quirky Indie Comedy, Right? - Happiness

If you haven't seen Todd Solondz's 1997 black comedy classic Happiness, this trailer would probably make you think it was a quirky indie comedy about zany people getting into sitcom-like mishaps. It's all totally hilarious and nothing really matters, right?

Well, the actual movie features suicide, child rape, the suggestion of incest, oh, and a scene where a dog eats a young boy's semen. If you went to see the movie off the back of this trailer expecting a pretty lame, safe-playing Sundance comedy, you'd sure as Hell be shocked at what it actually served up.

In effect the marketing massively undersold how brilliant the film is, but for cynical reasons to try and milk more cash out of a blatantly un-commercial project.
