15 Movies That Made 2016 The Dumbest Year Ever

1. Nine Lives

And yet, not one of these prior 14 films is as sensorily egregious and head-smackingly awful as the film which saw Kevin Spacey play a Donald Trump-like tycoon who gets turned into a cat as punishment for neglecting his family.

Easily one of the worst films ever made to star two Oscar winners (Christopher Walken is also along for the ride), Nine Lives looks and feels like a straight-to-DVD movie in every fiber of its being, aside from its cast, of course.

With inane slapstick humour that's patronising to even the youngest, least-demanding children, and a wholly inappropriate suicide subplot in the third act, the film is off-note in every way that a film can be, and one can only hope that Spacey's paycheck bought him a nice house or yacht or something.

If the aforementioned films were all utterly braindead for one reason or another, here's one that actually feels like it should be a South Park skit rather than a real movie you can actually watch right now (if you're a fan of self-flagellation).

Which movies do you think most typified the stupidity of 2016? Shout them out in the comments!
