15 Movies That Made 2016 The Dumbest Year Ever

14. The Huntsman: Winter's War

Despite 2012's moderately successful Snow White and the Huntsman functioning perfectly well as a standalone story, Universal pushed on with a prequel-sequel nobody wanted, and unsurprisingly, it sank like a stone at the worldwide box office.

Winter's War makes a ton of rookie mistakes: the title character doesn't even feel like the protagonist for much of the movie, Kristen Stewart's Snow White is awkwardly written-around, there's not enough Charlize Theron, and it's clear as day the movie is trying desperately to cash in on the success of Frozen with Emily Blunt's Ice Queen, Freya.

Also, Chris Hemsworth and Jessica Chastain's accents leave a lot to be desired, just cementing how little anyone involved with the film seemed to care at all.
