15 Movies That Made 2017 The Dumbest Year Ever
13. The Layover
How bad can a movie directed by William H. Macy starring the incredibly easy-on-the-eyes Alexandra Daddario and Kate Upton be? Very bad, that's how bad.
Though Macy's involvement suggests a more subversive spin on the typical "two women compete for a hot guy" formula, The Layover is a stunningly lazy, boring rom-com that fails to do much with its appealing leads beyond strut them around in revealing clothing for 90 minutes.
Daddario and Upton both play extremely unlikeable characters, its gender politics is troubling to say the least (though it clearly think it's being empowering), and every joke is a Shamelessly (get it?) rehashed gag you've probably seen in at least a dozen other similar movies.
On the plus side, you'll probably forget you saw it pretty quickly, so that's nice.
