15 Potential Plot Twists That Could Ruin Upcoming Movies
2. Luke Skywalker Is A Villain - Star Wars: The Force Awakens
The Twist: Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) is back alright, but he's undergone some serious changes since the end of Return of the Jedi, both mental and physical. In addition to his awesome bionic hand, Luke turns out to be a surprise antagonist in this instalment. Why It Could Ruin The Movie: Because it would crush the dreams of so many long-time Star Wars fans. The idea of such a quintessential hero of cinema being turned to the Dark Side would p*** a lot of fanboys off, as it would just be too drastic an attempt to make the new movie feel fresh, dark and daring. Though it might work if Luke starts off as a cranky, deranged loner and slowly gets turned back to the side of good, for him to be a flat-out bad guy who probably gets killed at the end would be a worse decision than allowing Jar Jar Binks to actually exist. The fans would run riot, and J.J. Abrams would never be forgiven. He probably won't do it, but never say never...
