12. The Indominus Rex Is Part-Raptor & Owen Manages To Tame It - Jurassic World
The Twist: Given that protagonist Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) is a raptor trainer and the movie's big new antagonist, the Indominus Rex, is a hybrid of several other dinosaurs, what if it turns out that it contains raptor DNA, allowing Owen to tame the beast at the end of the movie rather than resort to killing it with his army of raptors? Why It Could Ruin The Movie: Because whether or not you accept the premise of Owen commanding an army of raptors in the final battle against the Indominus Rex, it's assumed that the movie will end with the big bad being killed. To see Owen managing to tame the Rex would feel like a gigantic anti-climax, and reeks of a twist that thinks it's a lot smarter than it actually is. Nobody wants to see the humans and the dinos make nice: they want to see a dino battle that ends with the giant one getting ripped to shreds, because that's what everyone expects from a freaking Jurassic Park movie.
