15 Potential Plot Twists That Could Ruin Upcoming Movies

10. Sarah Connor Has A Daughter, Jane Connor, At The End - Terminator: Genisys

The Twist: As John Connor (Jason Clarke) is revealed to have been transformed into a Terminator in the latest trailer, the future is changed significantly enough that Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) doesn't give birth to him this time. Instead, after hooking up with Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) as per the original movie, Sarah this time gives birth to a female baby, which she can't resist but name Jane Connor, establishing a new potential protagonist for future movies (and quite the casting scout for the young actress to play her). Why It Could Ruin The Movie: Because though there's already plenty to worry about in this movie, to completely write John Connor out of the Terminator chronology in one movie would be absolutely unforgivable. He's such an iconic mainstay of the franchise, and if he's just summarily killed off and replaced with a female equivalent, it would reek of lame tokenism to try and make the series appeal to a wider audience, something that would probably fail. Though John's reinvention as an antagonist is one thing, at least he'll still be around in the series, but to quite literally erase every trace of his presence from existence and in effect "reboot" the lineage of the resistance would be a terrible idea, one which long-time Terminator fans would likely completely reject, putting the franchise's future in huge doubt.
