15 Problems Nobody Wants To Admit About 2015's Biggest Movies

13. Joseph Gordon-Levitt Looks Absolutely Nothing Like Edward Snowden (Snowden) Or Philippe Petit (The Walk)

2015 is a huge year for Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who takes on two roles which Oscar pundits are going to have their eyes on: he plays NSA whistle-blower Edward Snowden in Oliver Stone's Snowden, and he's also taking the part of iconic French high-wire artist Philippe Petit in Robert Zemeckis' The Walk. The problem, however, is that in both roles, though Gordon-Levitt will surely deliver good work, he looks absolutely nothing like either Snowden or Petit. In the case of Petit, heavy make-up has clearly been applied to alter the actor's appearance, with his eye colour and hair style being changed significantly, and there is the added benefit that a lot of people don't know what Petit looks like anyway. Such isn't really the case with Snowden, however, given his public image, and so it's bizarre that Gordon-Levitt landed the role when his face looks so different to Snowden's: Gordon-Levitt's is often said to look "Asian", and looking at Snowden, there's no hint of that whatsoever. While appearances aren't everything, it's going to be tough to get immersed in Snowden especially when the actor playing him is such a distracting opposite looks-wise.
