15 Problems Nobody Wants To Admit About 2015's Biggest Movies

10. Inside Out's Premise Is Potentially Very Clunky

Few are going to argue that Inside Out isn't Pixar's most ambitious and promising work in years, after the fair-to-disappointing offerings of Cars 2, Brave and Monsters University. The premise, which takes place inside the emotional HQ of a young girl moved to a new city, is certainly alluring and in line with the studio's more daring efforts, but it also certainly has the potential to be very clumsy and awkward in the wrong hands. A bunch of separate teams inside everyone's brains? The movie could easily feel over-stuffed, and as such it all rests on the execution of the idea. Of course, the same could easily be said about the fact that the monsters are powered by screams in Monsters Inc, but again, the execution is where it counts, and so it remains to be seen whether Pete Docter and co. can inject the film with the requisite wit and ingenuity which characterises their best works.
