15 Problems Nobody Wants To Admit About 2015's Biggest Movies

9. Ant-Man May Suffer From Tonal Issues

While Guardians of the Galaxy was unquestionably a risky project last summer, Marvel are again hedging their bets with Ant-Man, surely the goofiest prospect in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date. A dude who shrinks himself down to the size of an ant, and communicates with them? Sure, that'll put butts in seats. In fairness, while the the first trailer for the movie was a mixed bag, and there's plenty of consternation over Edgar Wright's departure from the director's chair, the recently-released second trailer demonstrates a great deal more promise, what with an upsurge in amusing one-liners and, well, a cameo from Thomas the freaking Tank Engine. However, this still has many skeptical, given that a lot of the trailer still seems to deal with serious issues: can the movie successfully juggle two distinct tones, of absurd, pint-sized comedy and genuine threat? Though the odds are firmly in Marvel's favour given their track record, it still has the potential to be an absolute mess.
