15 Problems Nobody Wants To Admit About 2015's Biggest Movies
8. Avengers: Age Of Ultron Will Be Disappointing If It Isn't The MCU's Best Movie
There's no arguing with the fact that the trailers put out for Avengers: Age of Ultron to date look totally awesome, and the early screening reactions so far are largely ecstatic, but even so, if the movie doesn't at least manage to top the previous 2012 movie, it's going to feel like a tremendous disappointment. The key issue is that expectations are so ridiculously high by this point: the first movie felt so fresh and unique, and this sequel will need to serve up something really special to compete with it. It would be easy for Age of Ultron to be an adequate, entertaining sequel which nevertheless doesn't match the brilliance of the original film. The problem is in many ways the "bigger, better" mindset, that it needs to be more explosive and more epic, even though Joss Whedon might prefer to tell a more intimate, thoughtful story. It sounds like he nailed it, but even so, fans are best advised to keep their expectations in the middle rather than be dead-set on a vastly superior offering to last time.
