6. London Has Fallen: Racist Or Hilarious?
Though few would admit that they think London Has Fallen is a genuinely good film, there are certainly plenty who can find a lot of entertainment value within it thanks to a tone that just barely stops short of shouting "America, f*** yeah!"
Fans may feel conflicted about where the line is drawn, though. Is London Has Fallen just dumb fun that deserves to be laughed at, or is its quasi-racism actually a lot more troubling, all the more considering how well the film did at the box office?
When Gerard Butler's character tells a terrorist to "go back to F***headistan", is it just an hilariously bad line, or further whipping up racist sentiments?
Either way, it's a difficult and discomforting question. Can a bad movie merely be a bad movie, or does the conscience win out?
