15 Reasons Jurassic World Was Absolutely Perfect

7. It Has Memorable Supporting Characters

On the topic of characters, the minor, supporting roles were another big part of what made Jurassic Park memorable. There's the main heroes, but then there's also Samuel L. Jackson's Ray Arnold and Wayne Knight's Dennis Nedry. There's also Donald Gennaro, the lawyer who gets chomped up on the toilet, and of course Robert "Clever Girl" Muldoon. Just about every person who appears in the film gets a moment to shine.

Jurassic World follows in those footsteps, and it has a truly amazing cast. Irrfan Khan brings a lot to the role of Masrani, the replacement for John Hammond. He isn't just a boring, corporate drone, and Khan injects the role with a lot of personality. It's also great to have someone at the top not portrayed as soulless and greedy, and he really carries on the spirit of Hammond in the modern age.

There's Omar Sy as Owen's friend Barry, a small role that still gets some nice moments to shine. BD Wong is the only returning cast member, reprising his role as Dr. Wu, and having him back is a nice way to tie the franchise to its roots. And then Lauren Lapkus and Jake Johnson are fantastic as two of the park operators, with Johnson wearing a Jurassic Park t-shirt and with his desk covered in dinosaur figures. He's like all the Jurassic Park geeks in the audience transported into the movie.
