15 Recent Movies We're Not Surprised Sucked

1. Cats

Finally, we arrive at Cats, a very late yet, very strong contender for the most infamous turkey of the 2010s; still, people knew just how bad this movie would be a very long time before it hit cinemas. Why?

Well, with this one you don't need to look up any production history or behind-the-scenes drama, all you need to do is watch 30 seconds of the trailer. And then you'll get it.

The trailers immediately revealed an eye-gougingly horrible CGI spectacle that hit the bottom of the uncanny valley - and kept digging. Cats is genuinely like something out of your worst nightmares, and the entire spectacle is more creepy than most horror films could ever dream of being.

Your writer has actually heard stories of children being so horrified by the trailer they left the cinema in tears.

If anything, the final movie, with its terrible script, non-existent plot, tedious songs and bloated run-time, was even worse than the marketing made it look. It does briefly come to life during Jennifer Hudson's barnstorming performance of Memory, but otherwise? Cats deserves to be ranked amongst the worst movies of this century - scratch that, maybe even ever.

To conclude, if there's any recent movie that seemed destined for failure prior to its release, it's this... thing.
