15 Recent Movies We're Not Surprised Sucked

12. Grudge

Pinocchio 2022
Sony Pictures Releasing

Grudge (2020) is a horror reboot - that absolutely no-one asked for - of the American Grudge films which had yet to produce a well-received entry, and it was released in January, which is where studios dump most of their garbage.

If that doesn't spell out 'Dud!' in flashing neon lights, what on earth does?

And sure enough, to the surprise of just about nobody, Grudge was one of 2020's worst films. It was a rote, messy and wildly unscary horror flick that wasted a stacked cast on a completely incompetent movie that simply should not have been made. After all, as previously said, no-one was asking for it.

More than anything else, this movie was just a sad reminder that January really is the worst time of year for trips to the cinema.
