15 Remakes Of 1990s Movies Coming In 2019 (And Beyond)

I'm Going To Know What You Did That Summer In The 1990s Again...

If you pay any attention to what's hitting cinemas at any point, you'll already know that Hollywood likes looking backwards more than it does forward. Reboots, remakes and sequels are all preferred - particularly when it comes to big budgets - than original IPs and smaller projects. That's just the nature of the beast now.

And because you can chart nostalgia cycles pretty easily, it's fairly clear that we're about to hit a 90s love-in in a big way. We've already seen it with Captain Marvel and Jonah Hill's Mid90s and judging by how many remakes of some classic 90s movies are on the way, it's a good time to dust off your pogs, get out your Naff Naff sweatshirt and listen to the Spice Girls.

Or maybe just keep an eye out for some of these remakes...

Honourable Mention

Home Alone

Home Alone Kevin Scream
20th Century Fox

As much as it's probably time for a whole new Home Alone movie, it's only right that we preserve the sanctity of the original (and the first sequel ONLY), so it's probably a good thing that the closest we're currently getting to a remake is Ryan Reynold's bonkers reimagining.

The Deadpool star is teaming up with writers Kevin Burrows and Matt Milder to make Stoned Alone, a stoner "reboot" of the Kevin McCallister story. It will see a twenty-something dosser who misses his plane to go skiing and decides to get high at home, only to discover burglars are running amok around his house.
