15 Stupid Star Wars Movie Mistakes You Probably Missed

14. Luke Knows Ventriloquism - Empire Strikes Back

When George Lucas showed a handful of his close friends a rough cut of A New Hope, the response was largely negative. This was when George turned to his editing team of Richard Chew, Paul Hersch, and his wife, Marcia Lucas.

The miraculous job they did in fixing key scenes, characters and the pacing of the film helped Star Wars snap victory from the jaws of defeat. It still stands today as an example of how important good editing is for filmmaking.

So it comes as quite a surprise to see such a clear editing mistake in the sequel.

When Luke is instructed by Obi-Wan to find his old Master Yoda on the planet Dagobah, he crashes his X-Wing in a swamp. As Luke sets up camp with R2, he wonders aloud to himself if he will be able to find Yoda, or if he even exists. But if you watch him closely in this scene, his mouth does not actually move.

Considering Empire Strikes Back is regarded as one of the greatest films ever made, it is disappointing to see it include such a careless editing mistake.
