7. Unfriended

Why It Looks Terrible: Even ignoring the terribly generic titles it's gone through (Offline and Cybernatural), Unfriended looks like another horror flick trying to comment on the ubiquity of technology, but doesn't seem to have a firm grasp on the tech itself. The trailer suggests a wildly contrived and nonsensical movie about a group of friends being tormented by an unseen force over Skype, and though it might be good for a few unintended laughs, it's tough to expect much more than that. How It Will Make A Profit: The whole social media angle will be eaten up by teenagers, and it's clearly been produced for an extremely low budget given the directorial style and cast of mostly unknowns. As long as it's marketed well enough, it'd be tough for this one to actually lose money.
