15 Terrible Mistakes That Almost Ruined James Bond For Everyone
7. Awful CGI Everywhere (Die Another Day)
There are enough problems in Die Another Day (one of which we'll return to later), but the worst thing about it above all else is the tawdry quality of the visual effects, which in a $142 million-budgeted movie, is absolutely unforgivable. The most egregious instances involve Bond girl Jinx (Halle Berry) taking an absurdly green-screened swan dive off a cliff into the water, and the infamous scene in which Bond surfs along a tsunami, which looked worse than most video games of the period. This is the point at which even the Bond producers appeared to sit back and realise how excessive their product had become, because following the release of Die Another Day, it was another 4 years until another movie was made, one which rebooted the franchise and started anew without the cheesy CGI and ridiculous excess.
