15 Terrible Mistakes That Almost Ruined Terminator For Everyone

4. Sarah Connor Dies...Of Leukemia? (Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines)

One of the more unfortunate omissions from T3 was the lack of Sarah Connor, with actress Linda Hamilton turning down the script because she felt that her character was unnecessary and the script was "soulless". This lead to Connor being written out of the franchise, having succumbed to leukemia in 1997, though having seen Judgment Day pass without incident before doing so. However, she had a contingency plan in case Judgment Day had merely been delayed (which it turned out to be), leaving a cache of weapons in her casket, which John and the Terminator retrieve. Still, given how iconic Hamilton made Sarah in the first two movies, and how strong a female character she was, it was a shame to see her bumped off so casually in T3. Seriously, leukemia rather than an epic, bullet-riddled blaze of glory? Still, at least fans got to hear her voice again in Terminator Salvation by way of some tapes she left for John.
