15 Terrible Mistakes That Almost Ruined Terminator For Everyone

3. Not Enough Future War (Terminator Salvation)

The entire selling point of Salvation was that it would finally get to the future war between the resistance and the machines which was previously teased in each Terminator movie with a brief flash-forward sequence. Making Terminator Salvation strictly a war movie should have been an easy choice, yet the end result just isn't focused enough to this end, featuring a curious lack of imagery from the previous movies (such as T-800s en masse crushing human skulls) and nowhere near enough human-machine battle scenes. There's too much of a focus on other ideas which just don't really work (the whole Marcus thing, for one), when a post-apocalyptic Saving Private Ryan would have been exactly what the movie needed to be. Sadly it seems like viewers may have lost their chance to get the ultimate future war movie now, because from what's been seen and heard so far, Genisys is going to be something completely different.
