15 Terrible Scenes In Awesome Comic Book Movies

10. You're Not Even Going To Try, Are You? - X-Men: First Class

X-Men: First Class was a return to form for the series after Vinnie Jones became even more of a joke than usual in X-Men: The Last Stand and Deadpool's mouth was sewn shut in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Part of the film's appeal was the array of new characters introduced to the franchise, including Havok and Banshee, but one particular fan favourite didn't receive the treatment she deserved. January Jones was pretty awful in the role of Emma Frost - that we all know - but did they have to make her seem so weak? As one of the most powerful mutants in the Marvel Universe, Frost should have been one of the key antagonists of First Class, yet the scene where Professor Xavier and Magneto overpower her ends painfully fast. Frost's telepathy rivals Xavier's and her diamond form is also formidable yet the two men initially stop her without even using their abilities, simply grabbing her as she frolics into their arms. Once Magneto chains Frost to the bed, he's able to crush her throat with ease using the gold bed bannister... despite the fact that diamond is clearly the stronger material. Even if you ignore the science behind this, the entire scene is just embarrassing to watch and someone as badass as the White Queen deserves far better. Hell, even a character like Maggot or Marrow deserves more than that and there's no way in hell either of those mutants are appearing on the big screen any time soon.
