9. Why Wasn't The Wormhole Placed Closer To Earth?
Alright, so it's something of a snarky complaint, but in the movie, the intelligent beings (later revealed to be a future form of humanity) place a wormhole near Saturn to allow Cooper and co. to save Earth's population. However, would it have killed them to place the freaking wormhole a little closer to Earth, like by Mars or something? There are probably several scientific answers why the wormhole couldn't exist near Mars (or at least one that the script should probably have contrived anyway), but the real reason is that it just wouldn't make the movie's journey seem quite so treacherous and epic. It's an easy way to elongate the plot, and though it's a nitpick, it does seem slightly silly when the issue isn't even addressed in the film at all.
