4. When The Film Had No Name
The movie’s name ‘When Harry Met Sally…’ took ages to decide on, and there were several other potential names thrown in the mix beforehand.
Between Rob Reiner, producer Andrew Scheinman and Nora Ephron, they came up with: "Just Friends," "Playing Melancholy Baby," "Boy Meets Girl," "Blue Moon," "Words of Love," "It Had To Be You," "Harry, This Is Sally," and "How They Met."
It got so desperate, Reiner created a competition between his Castle Rock Entertainment employees to get more suggestions, the prize being a full case of champagne.
Ironically, Ephron claimed that she was happy with how all the film turned out, the exception being that she detested the title.
