15 Things You Somehow Missed In Shaun Of The Dead

Shaun Of The Dead was the first of three films made by Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright, followed by Hot Fuzz and The World’s End, that went on to be known as the ‘Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy’.

The name comes from the fact that a Cornetto appears in each of the films, with the flavours and wrapper colours chosen to fit in with the theme of each movie. Hot Fuzz featured the original blue wrapper to represent the police; The World’s End had a mint Cornetto with a green wrapper to signify the alien/sci-fi element of the film, whilst Shaun Of The Dead had a red strawberry flavour to show the bloody element of the horror movie.

The original idea came from the fact that Wright once had a Cornetto to try and cure a hangover and thought it would be funny if Ed did the same. From there it became a running gag throughout their movies and was christened the ‘Three Flavours Trilogy’, a play on Krzysztof Kieslowski’s ‘Three Colours Trilogy’.
