15 Traumatising Moments From Children’s Movies That Scarred You For Life

4. Mufasa's Death - The Lion King

If you didn't shed a tear or two when Simba's dad Mufasa fell to his death in The Lion King then, odds are, you probably don't have a soul. There's so much emotional weight to this scene. After rescuing Simba from a stamped, Mufasa asks brother Scar to help him escape the danger. No dice. See, Scar is an absolute jerk and, instead of helping his wounded brother, he digs his claws into him and sends him off the side of the canyon to his death. It's pretty Shakespearian stuff, for a Disney film. Simba rushes to his father's side and begs him to get up, calling out for help. The music swells at the same rate as your tears as Simba realises that his father is gone. It is a crushing scene, especially for anyone watching who has lost their father themselves. Damn you, Disney. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGtJn-L5xEs
