2. The Incinerator - Toy Story 3

Here's another scene that came perilously close to kicking you right in the childhood. When Toy Story 3 was announced the majority of fans were ecstatic. It wasn't just a kids film, it was a Pixar film and that meant there would be just as much for the adults to enjoy. Plus, those who watched the original in 1995 could look back nostalgically on their childhood. The first two Toy Story films were a lot of fun, but, while there were some dark moments, nothing could have prepared viewers for what happened in the third one. Towards the end of the film, Buzz, Woody and the rest of the toys find themselves on a conveyor belt heading towards an incinerator. There is seemingly no way out as the Toys scramble for an escape. Accepting their fate, the toys turn to one another and in one of the most hair-raising film moments of the last five years, they join hands as they race towards the flames. The look on Woody's face as he comes to terms with the inevitable is too much for even the most cynical and surly viewer. So you're sitting in the theatre either trying to make sure that nobody sees you crying or trying not to cry too loudly, thinking "this is it" when the Aliens come and rescue them at the last second.
