15 Unbelievably Hideous Horror Movie Sequels
2. The Rage: Carrie 2
The original Carrie is an achingly sad horror masterpiece and one of the genre's all-time greatest films. In stark contrast, The Rage: Carrie 2 might be one of the worst sequels ever made in any genre. Unsurprisingly, only one person from the original returned: Amy Irving as Sue Snell. Unfortunately, the film kills her off meaninglessly, which is one of the many dreadful decisions this un-scary disaster of a horror film makes.
This one mimics the arc of the original, but fills it with misguided choices such as a pointless romantic subplot and removes all the pathos, fear and tragedy that made the original so special. Since it copies its predecessor so much the film comes off as even more of an insult to it.
Emotionally void, forgettably acted, flatly directed and entirely bland, Carrie 2 is a train-wreck with nothing to offer save for some entertaining gore; unfortunately, that comes at the very end. All in all, a complete turkey.
