15 Unbelievably Hideous Horror Movie Sequels

14. Halloween II (2009)

Rob Zombie's Halloween remake isn't great or anything but it was an interesting work and remains one of the most underrated horror remakes out there. Unfortunately, in Zombie's second stab at the franchise he totally lost the plot.

Not only is this a terrible slasher sequel, it's also one of the weirdest ever made. Filled with pretentious dream sequences involving Michael's dead mother with a white horse (yes, really) and featuring the talented future Oscar nominee Octavia Spencer making a meaningless cameo as one of Michael's victims, this one will have you exclaiming WTF throughout.

Unfortunately, despite that it's a very boring film that largely consists of darkly lit, exhausting kill scenes and scenes involving unlikable characters yelling at each other. It also butchers most of the once-great characters; Laurie is just an A-hole, Loomis is an even bigger A-hole and Michael Myers is not only dominated by those weird horse visions but spends much of the film without his mask on.

The performances, in fairness, are fine, but other than that this is an undeniable slog.
