15 Unbelievably Hideous Horror Movie Sequels

7. Saw V

Saw V Strahm
Lionsgate

This is another film that's so empty and dull it's unlikely to provoke any real reaction from the audience. It isn't scary, it isn't disturbing, the acting is dreadful, the script is even worse and there isn't even a good twist ending this time. All the elements that defined the franchise's better films, such as Tobin Bell, clever twists, moral ambiguity and good death scenes, are largely absent here.

This is the worst film in the Saw franchise and since we're talking about a franchise that includes Saw III, Saw IV and Saw 3D, that's saying a lot. This is very much a sequel with no fresh ideas that was only released to meet the franchise's annual Halloween release date and make money.

Looking on the bright side, a year later we did get a return-to-form with Saw VI but even so, this monstrosity is surely one of the laziest and most effort-free horror films of recent times.
